Why
you need it:
Vitamin C supplies electrons to certain enzymes and helps with production of
connective tissues of skin, bone, ligaments, cartilage, and the teeth. It
comprises 30% of body protein. It also helps prevent some cancers.
Symptoms
of Vitamin C Deficiency (also known as Scurvy):
Bleeding
gums, depression, easy bruising, impaired wound healing, irritability, joint
pains, loose teeth, malaise, tiredness
What
you need to EAT!
Citrus fruits,
tomatoes, potatoes, and leafy vegetables. Don't cook these things - cooking
releases most of the vitamin C in these foods.
